Selecting the Right Aviation Chemicals and Documentation
Hydraulic fluids, high-temperature lubricants and sealants: specifications, compatibility and MSDS/CoC documentation that keep fleets safe and compliant.
Chemicals directly impact flight safety and maintenance quality. Viscosity, temperature range and material compatibility define component life.
Hydraulic fluids: phosphate-ester types (e.g., Skydrol/HyJet) must be compatible with seals. Monitor system cleanliness and filter saturation regularly.
Lubricants: oxidation resistance at high temperature and low ash content protect bearings and gear trains. Enforce proper storage and lot tracking on the line.
Sealants/adhesives: use OEM-approved products; include cure times in maintenance schedules to avoid delays.
Documentation: never accept without MSDS and CoC with lot traceability. Rotate stock to avoid shelf-life risks.
